Wonderland believes the world doesn’t end at the edges of our campus. We believe in teaching our children that no matter who you are or where you come from, we all have the ability to help someone else. Students learn to initiate positive social change through their contributions to the common good of not only their school, but the world.
Wonderland fulfills this through a variety of community outreach projects such as: food collections through Big Sunday’s End of the Month Club and SOVA, with a field trip to their food bank. At the end of the school year, Wonderland participates in Big Sunday weekend. As part of the largest community volunteer event in Los Angeles, each grade participates in a project and donates to various charities. Our Student Council is very involved in Community Outreach and fundraises through their many projects to support our efforts.
The Community Outreach committee has also cultivated a relationship with a sister school, Glassell Park Elementary. Sponsoring a Family Movie Night, providing sports equipment and books through our Big Sunday event, we continue to explore ways to bring our two communities together.
